In my foundation Production 'The Hit' i have used various Editing techniques and cuts. These include...
A elliptical cut - I decided to use this cut in the workout scene to emphasize how physically fit the protagonist is and to drive the narrative forward.
A flash back - This is to show the audience what our protagonist was doing just before be got the assignment to stop the villain Nazo, and it gives the audience an insight into the protagonists combat history and the back story into why he is doing this certain type of job.
A Cutaway - this shot was used to show some thing of significance from outside of the frame, this was also used to cover up an edit.
A shot reverse/shot - we used this in the 'Execution scene' to show the coldness of the villain and the emotions of the guard which in this case was the victim.

Colours in culture
Another extra resource which i have used today is about how different colours have different meanings in other countries around the world. This became very interesting to me because in the bedroom/workout scene i deliberately used a bedroom with the colour white surrounding it, i did this to add positive connotations to emphasise that this pace is safe and the protagonist is in no real danger. when i made this decision it never occurred to me that white in chinese and hindu represents death!
I also added different colour to the characters Max and Nazo to give negative or positive connotations towards the two characters, Max was wearing a black jacket, black tie, black trousers and black shoes. in western/America black has different meanings such as evil, truce andAuthority which is in contrast to what it means in Asia, in Asia it represents intelligence.
For Max i made him wear a white shirt, Black trousers and white shoes, i chose the colour white to show the audience that he is the main protagonist and that he can be trusted by the audience.

Updates for 'The Hit'- Feedback from Myra Lee
Today we have had a professional in the media industry, she has worked for the ITV and she is a journalist lecturer for UWE she came in to give us feedback about our foundation productions, Myra enjoyed our film, but with this she gave us a few things to improve on.
In the very first shot of the production when Nazo is walking down the street while the narration sequence is taking place she said there should be more shots from different angles taking place and not just the one which we originally had. These different shots could include a reverse angle shot and one following his feet and legs. It could also lead to a shot following him from behind him.
She also added so small improvements such as...
- use some different transitions between shots
- use some more close up shots to clearly show the characters emotions
- use a close up of the gun in the stare down scene
- shorten some of the parts which drag on for a little to long
